How to mic vocals in a band?
I’m in a band, and we have a microphone and a 15 watt guitar amp. When using this setup, you can not hear the vocals over guitar, bass, and drums. When you turn up the volume on the amp, there is feedback, and when you cup your hand on the mic, the voice is very distorted.
what is the best way to optimize this setup? Should the eq be different, or different levels of “post” and “pre?” Should the “Channel select” button not be pressed? Could a guitar pedal raise the volume?
or…must the equipment used be improved?
Just turn down the instruments a LITTLE bit..and turn up the mic as much as you can untill there is a little feedback, a little feedback is ok…just not too much
just make sure the amp can handle it, my band used one and it made the amp all weird and made little popping sounds everytime you put in the mic again..or even the guitar
